A PRRC with experience
You can study the theory for every job, and this should be part of your preparation, but the theory will not provide you with experience. Becoming an experienced PRRC means that you have to learn from mistakes. But that doesn’t mean that you have to make these mistakes yourself. You can learn a lot by living through events other PRRCs have encountered. All you need is someone who has gathered a huge collection of events, analysed them, and is capable of presenting them in a challenging way.
PRRC Workshop 14 February 2025, Rotterdam
This is precisely what will be done at the PRRC workshop on 14 February 2025 in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. You will get the same training material as during the online training sessions and we will also work with practice scenarios. The main difference with the online training is that this time, we will meet in person. This will provide an extra level of intensity for the training.
A training ‘for all’
Where the online training sessions make a distinction between the PRRC for the manufacturer or the authorized representative and for the in-house or outsourced PRRC, this training will address all these perspectives. On top of that, attention will be paid to the skill of appointing or hiring a PRRC. Although it sounds obvious that having the right person, under the right conditions, in this role, there appears to be no training available for this, anywhere in the world. This gap is now filled, so any manager struggling with the role of the PRRC should attend.
Training content
The training will analyse Article 15 and MDCG guidance 2019-7 Rev.1 regarding the PRRC. But on top of that, other aspects will be addressed, like liability, insurance, and how a legal person can take its responsibilities and communicate about that. But this is just the start. The core of the training is about becoming appointed as a PRRC, developing the role, becoming a valuable asset to the company instead of a source of irritation, planning and reporting, and communication with the authorities. At the end of the training a PRRC should be able to organize their role in such a way that they feel comfortable and management responsible for appointing a PRRC should be able to select the right person and enable them to add value to the organization.
